***Following an EP and several singles, Brooklyn-based punk band SHOP TALK has announced a full-length album. The band's self-titled LP was recorded in Nashville with Stiff Little Fingers tech / Sleeveens bassist James Mechan behind the boards, and its release is slated for March 13, 2026, via One Track Mind Records / Revolver USA.
The LP is the product of an immersive five-day session at Mechan's residential studio, and it harnesses the power of SHOP TALK's live show with minimal overdubs. It's a snapshot of this hardworking New York group on the heels of their summer tour, and half-delirious in the Tennessee heat. These songs have the emotional intensity of a fever dream—partly because Mechan and the band were running moderate-grade fevers during tracking. Listen well, but don't get too close.
"Ramona" and "Mirage of Love" are blistering SHOP TALK staples committed to vinyl for the first time. Moody, mid-tempo tracks like "Saltillo" and "Golden Afternoon" showcase the band's range, while past releases only hinted at it. It's a collection that's long overdue, and it was worth the wait.
